With a solid foundation of over 15 years in tech, product management and digital marketing, I am pivoting back to my dev roots. I've had valuable experiences in my career, equipping me with a unique mix of technical skill and strategic insight.
As I move into software engineering, my focus is on crafting robust, user-centric applications. My approach is anchored in an understanding of development principles, an eye for detailed execution, and a dedication to continual learning. My goal is to develop software that not only meets but also anticipates user needs, delivering a seamless and impactful experience.
App designed to help friends find a central meeting place. It operates by taking two input addresses and suggesting venues that are conveniently located between them, with a focus on equal travel times for all parties. The app leverages several Google APIs: Places API for venue identification, Distance Matrix API for travel distance and time calculations, and Geocoding API for converting addresses into geographic coordinates.
Front-end user interface for a comprehensive backend API, akin to platforms like Reddit. The app's API provides various endpoints for accessing and managing data, such as retrieving discussion topics, fetching articles with sorting options, and managing user information. Specific endpoints allow for actions like posting new articles and comments, updating vote counts, and deleting entries.
Web app that uses the National Grid ESO's Carbon Intensity API to help users minimise their carbon footprint. By providing real-time data on the carbon intensity of the power grid, it advises on the best times to consume electricity, especially during high availability of renewable energy. The purpose is to enable people to make informed decisions in their everyday power consumption.
I am currently available for roles in software development or engineering, and I'm also keen to collaborate on exciting projects. Get in touch if you'd like to chat.
